Academic Session and Admission

Academic session shall start from the date notified by Jammu University.
1. Admission is open to state subjects and children of Central Govt. employees, Army and Para-military personnel posted in J&K State.
2. Students seeking admission in B.A Part- I are required to apply on the prescribed form appended with the prospects.
3. Change of subjects is not permissible after admission.
4. Students belonging to reserved categories as listed in SRO-294 shall get additional weight age of 5% marks i.e. 30 marks out of total 600.
5. The information brochure shall be provided on cash payment of Rs.50/-.
6. The admission form duly filled in and signed by the parents/guardian must be submitted to the college office on or before the expiry date as notified.
7. The principal reserve the right to accept or reject any application form for admission without assigning any reason.
8. A student who is admitted to the college and completes the minimum required attendance but either fails or does not appear in the ensuing university examination will not be considered for admission to the same class again.
9. The following certificates/ testimonials must be attached with the admission form:
a. Provisional certificate in original issued by the institution last attended/ J&K Board of School Education in case of private students.
b. Marks certificate of the 12thclass passed (four attested copies).
c. Character Certificate in original issued by the Head of the institution last attended.
d. In case of private candidates a character certificate issued by first class Magistrate/ S.H.O.
e. Three unattested recent passport size photographs.
f. Two attested copies of Matriculation Diploma.
g. Reserved category certificate issued by the competent authority. (SRO-294)
h. Original Transfer and Migration certificate in case of students of Boards other than J&K Board of school of Education. Also enclose two attested copies of these certificates.

Promotion Criteria under Semester System:

A student will be eligible for promotion from 2nd Semester to 3rd Semester of the course provided he/she has passed 75% of the papers of 1st Semester and pass i Internal Assessment/Practical’s( Where applicable) of 2nd Semester. Similarly, a student will be eligible for promotion from 4th Semester to 5th Semester of the course provide he/she has passed 75% of the papers of 3rd Semester and pass in Internal Assessment/Practical’s ( Where applicable) of 4th Semester.

Environmental examination shall be conducted in 3rd and 4th Semester


Inter University Migration:-


Migration of candidates will be allowed in 3rd semester and 5th semester only subject to other statutory conditions provided under inter university norms.

Introduction of Re-evaluation


There will be Re-Evaluation in each semester as per the prescribed norms of the university. Supplementary Examinations:-
There shall be no supplementary examination for any undergraduate course in Semester mode except the last even i.e. 6th semester examination for each course.

Number of Chances to the candidates failing under Annual Pattern:-


A candidate following under Annual Pattern will be allowed to clear his back log papers with in a period of three years after the declaration of his her result of B.A/BSC/B.Com./BBA/BCA Part-III. If a candidate fails in more than two courses, he she will be take admission in 1st semester afresh.

Certificates to be Issued by the College to the outgoing Students


» Provisional certificate
» Character certificate
» College leaving/ Bonafide Certificate (In case a student leaves in midsession).
In addition to these certificates, marks card and degree certificates are issued by the University of Jammu to which the college is affiliated in due course of time.
Students who shall be in need of any of the above certificate(s) need to submit their application in advance and are required to produce “No Demand Certificate” from college library and concerned departments including NSS,NCC and Physical education Department.

Admission Rules

1. A student who has passed the Higher Secondary Part-II examination (Class XII) of the J&K Board of School Education or an examination recognized as its equivalent by the University of Jammu is only eligible for admission to B.A. Part-I.
2. A Student whose result is declared late by the J&K Board may be admitted as per admission rules of the University subject to the availability of seats.
3. A student who is admitted to the College and completes the minimum required attendance but either fails or does not appear in the ensuing University examination will not be considered for admission in the same class.
4. A student with a break in academic career will not be considered for admission in the College. However, Principal may condone one year break where he/she feels convinced about the reasons leading to the break in studies subject to the availability of seats.
5. If a student after being admitted, remains continuously absent for 15 days, he/she shall be removed from the College rolls and shall not be re-admitted to the same class during the same year. The year so wasted shall be counted as one year break/gap and dealt with under appropriate clauses, if he/she presents himself/herself for re-admission during the next year.
6. Change of subject is not permitted after admission. Admission to a particular stream/subject combination shall be purely on the availability of seats.
7. Admission fees is non-refundable
